Having been a Real Estate Agent for over 23 years and having owned my own business for over 20 years I have had the great fortune to work through the highs and lows of the Real estate industry. This experience puts me in good stead in the sense that I have learnt how to handle different types of market conditions.
One thing that I have learnt is that through the test of time – if real estate is treated as a long term goal – you will do very well out of it.
As my Father said to me – what is expensive today is cheap tomorrow, as he recalls the first block of land he purchased for 48 pounds – I personally recall selling vacant land for $1,500 when I first entered Real Estate in the early eighties.
Apart from the decision to start a family, the sale of a property is arguably the most important decision of your life. As an agent with 23 years plus experience and having owned and operated two highly successful, multi award winning Franchised agencies, it sometimes surprises me how a home owner could entrust the sale of their home without doing their own research with regard to the agents credibility within the industry. Unless the Agent themselves have lived through the buying and selling process it would be hard for them to sympathize with the intricacies involved. There is also the agent who through some mid-life crisis decides to give “Real Estate a go” not knowing or having the benefits of years of learning, molding and nurturing their abilities.
At Coast Creek and Country all we ask is that you take time to research and most of all feel comfortable with the choice you make with regard to which agent you choose. The wrong choice could cost you dearly both financially and emotionally.
